French Loto is an institution - in France
Hugely popular, it raises funds for assorted organisations both local and national.
'We', a dozen foreign nationals, who 'gave it a go' in the name of both entente cordiale and raising a few euros for Lions International, won little (nothing!) but had a laugh.
It's similar to bingo but whereas in the UK you win cash, in France you win an eclectic range of prizes from pork chops to dishwashers.
